Direct:
Inverse:
1:
A:
Direct: Child Mortality, Total Fertility Rate
Inverse: Total Fertility Rate, Income Per Person
B:
Child Mortality usually decreases with development, Total Fertility also decreases, and Income Per Person increases.
2:
A:
Especially in the first video, most countries in Africa consistently lagged behind the more developed countries. In the second video, several Middle-Eastern countries had strangely high incomes per person, and China had a strange dip in Total Fertility Rate.
B:
The high incomes of certain Middle-Eastern countries can be explained by money from oil. The most likely reason for China's sudden decrease in Total Fertility is its one-child policy.

Paragraph 1: Where are they?
The countries that I predict will merge are China and what is now Taiwan. The countries I predict will seperate are Somalia and Somaliland. China and Taiwan are in Eastern Asia and Somalia is in Northern Africa.
Paragraph 2: WHY are they there?
For China and Taiwan, the main centripetal force is China's government. It seems very likely that China will invade Taiwan soon, especially because in October of 2013, Chinese soldiers, including surface warships, China's air force, amphibious assault vehicles, and even an electronic warfare department participated in a wargame which simulated a Taiwan invasion that was similar to the invasion of Normandy. Somalia is considered a failed state, and Somaliland will probably be recognized as separate by the US as soon as the African Union does.
Paragraph 3: Why are they THERE?
The boundary between Somalia and Somaliland was chosen based on what Somaliland defines the boundary to be. The only boundary involved if China invaded Taiwan would be the ocean.
Paragraph 4: What difference will it make?
If Somaliland is recognized as its own country, it will benefit by being unattached to the failed state of Somalia-It has a well-functioning economy even without some of the benefits that come with statehood. However, if Somaliland seceded, it could cause seccesionist claims in other parts of Africa, which could cause violence and failed states. Taiwan's strategy for a Chinese invasion is not to defeat China, but instead to make the invasion go as slowly as possible, giving the US time to intervene. However, if China does invade Taiwan, it would not cause a very large impact unless China attacked Taiwan with nuclear weapons or a massive missile strike.

Photo Collage Project
This image shows an instance of cultural appropriation. In this case, what was originally an American Indian headdress is being used as an odd fashion item. It is difficult to tell whether this an insult to the original culture or the expansion of the culture.
